Faith Statement | 甘城华人福音堂

甘城华人福音堂隶属于美南浸信会 (Southern Baptist Convention)，遵循其信仰章程（The Baptist Faith and Message, 2000)：

1. God the Father

Whose existence is to be asserted and proved by the Word of God itself, the beauty and order of the world, the meaning and purpose of human life (Gen.1: 1; Rom.1: 19-20; Ps. 19:1-2; Rom. 2:12-16)
Who is eternal and infinite (Exo.3: 14; Job 11:7)
Who is holy and just (Lev.11: 45; Rom. 7:12)
Who is love and good (Ps. 25:8; 119:68)
Who is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent (Ps.139: 7-12; Acts 15:18; Rev. 19:6)

2. Jesus Christ

Who is the Second Person of Godhead and coexists from everlasting to everlasting (Jn.1: 1; Heb.1:8)
Who is the only Begotten Son of God (Mt. 26:53-65; Jn.1:14)
Who was incarnated by the birth of virgin Mary and bears full humanity yet without sin (Mt.1: 18-25; Heb.4: 15)
Who died on the Cross as the substituting atonement for sin, Who was raised from death as the triumph over the power of sin (Isa. 53:6; Jn.1: 29; Lk. 24:36-43)
Who is now sitting at the throne and intercedes for His people, and who will come back again to receive us into glory (Rom. 8:34; 1 Thess.4: 14-16)

3. Holy Spirit

Who is the Third Person of Godhead and coexists from everlasting to everlasting (Gen.1: 2; Mk.3: 28-30)
Who convicts sinners, gives and seals eternal life to them (Jn.16: 8-11; Eph.1: 13-14)
Who is the Comforter of the saints and the Teacher of the truth (Jn.14: 15-17)
Who equips and fills the believers with various spiritual gifts for the good work of Jesus Christ (Eph.5: 18; Gal.2: 20)
Who is to be grieved by the disobedience of the believers and is the Sanctifier of the believers (Eph.4: 30; Jn.16: 13)

4. Holy Scripture

Which is consist of 66 books (39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament) (Lk.24: 44; 2 Tim.3: 16)
Which is inspired by God, therefore it is complete, infallible and inerrant (2 Tim.3: 16; Mt.5: 18)
Which is to be owned, studied and meditated by every believers (Ps.1: 2-3; Jn.6: 45)
Which is authoritative and must be applied and obeyed (Ps.119: 67, 89)
Which is the Living Word and is sufficient for all life issues and problems (Rom.15: 4; 1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Timothy

5. Man’s Sin and Salvation

Who was born with sin, lived in sin and died of sin prior to his salvation of God (Gen. 3:24; Ps.14; Eph.2: 3)
Who was doomed to eternal punishment of Hell and separation from God (Heb.9: 27; Mt. 5:27-30)
Who has no power in himself to please God, nor has the power to change himself (Eph.2: 1)
Who is to be saved only by trusting in Jesus Christ as his Substitute of sin and the Mediator before God (Jn.3: 16)
Who is to be justified by faith in Jesus Christ and sanctified by the Word of God and the Spirit of God (Jn.17: 17; Rom.15: 16)

6. Holy Church

Who is purchased and cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ and is consist of believers alone (1 Peter 2:9-10)
Who is invisible, universal, heavenly, catholic as well as visible, physical, earthly and local (Eph.4: 1-16; Rev.2: 1,8,12,18; 3:1,7,14)
Who exists for the glory of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ to the world (Mt.28: 18-20)
Who builds up the body of Christ by equipping and edifying of the believers, as well as purifying and disciplining the backslidings (1 Corinthians 5: 1-13)
Who separates herself from the corruption of the world, labours and waits in hope the glorious day of redemption (1 John 2:15-17; 1 Cor.15: 50-58)

7. The Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Eternity beyond

That this world cannot and will not last forever, the end of the world is both prophesied and promised (Mt. 24-25)
That the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is imminent and physical (Lk.21: 31; 1 Thess.5: 2-6)
That Christ will reign on the earth for the Millennium (Rev.19: 15-16)
That the existence and horror of hell is real and literal, final destiny of the unbelievers is doomed and fixed forever (Rev.20: 10-15)
That the everlasting presence of God is promised to and enjoyed by all believers (Rev.21: 22-22:5)
